Sails
I saw her sailing in the moonlight.
Her hair was trailing in the breeze.
Her dangling foot splashed through the water.
I watched though mangrove trees.
All the night sounds skipped a beat and my heart fell low in tow.
The serene scene held it's grip on me. I knew she'd never know.
Her hull so quickly whispered by me.
She smiled up briefly to the moon.
Her sparkling eyes increased my longing.
I looped in love's lagoon.
Soon the wind took her away and my heart sank deep into the sea.
I vowed to find her in that boat one day to sail her home with me.
I see her sailing in the sunlight.
She's smiling back at me right now
We sail around our favorite islands.
She lays across my bow.
All the seagulls sing our song,
and they chase away the glooming gray.
So every day we both sing along,
and then we'll sail away.
