Long For The Season

Did you ever walk into your local bar

to find your friend lying on the floor?

It may have been the drink, but still it makes you think.

Was it really someting more?

Before you turn around you are pelted by the sound

of drunken mountian of a man.

He came to say his peace, and you stay out of the reach

from that fist he used to call a hand.

Well, you long for the season when humans show some reason

in working out the way they can relate.

You know it's getting better, and still you sense the fetter

of all the stuggles to this date.

You long for the season when loving was the reason

and no one ever questioned how it's done.

Now you long for the season and wait for the reason to come.

Did you ever see the faces of the poor

or the forlorn places where they live?

Well, it's time to dig in deep cuz helping isn't cheap.

You'll get back double what you give.

Before you turn aside let your conscience be your guide

and welcome the empathetic choice.

There's a crisis in the air. You could show them that you care.

You could give good reason to your voice.

Let's bring back the time togetherness ruled,

When everyone was running free.

Selfishness was shinning, helpfulness thrived, like life was meant to be.
