I Wouldn't But I Want To
A song about saying one thing and meaning another.
It is presented here with Band in a Box, Reaper, Cakewalk, EZDrummer and Ozone 11. Dave Bell of Blue Attitude played guitar, and I added bass and vocal.

I Wouldn't But I Want To
Satisfied that the time is right,
and the tumblers fall in place.
There is nothing holding me to this tired life, and I could use more space.
The wavy mountain lines that are calling me, they seem to know my soul.
So I must turn you down cuz I'm headin' out of town. So now I guess I'll go.
I wouldn't but "I want to." You
know I need to think this through.
"It's like I said I want to," but I wouldn't want to with you.
You can see that I'm running late, and my pickup truck is packed.
So forgive me if I bounce. We can call it fate.
Our deck right now is stacked.
There's a storm that's on its way and my wipers barely work
so I need to beat the rain.
It could've been great fun, but I really gottra run.
We'll try again someday.
Satisfied that the time is right, and the tumblers fall in place.
There's a life I need to live where I'm free to just be me,
and I could use more space.
The trees that line the path to the big sky up ahead
are pulling me along.
Knowing where I'd be if I let her get to me, I knew I wasn't wrong.
I wouldn't but "I want to." I'm so
glad I thought that through.
It's like I told her, "I want to," but thought, "I wouldn't with you."
