Groove Dat Pie

A song about enjoying your weekend after a long week of working just to pay some rich guy's bills.

It is presented here with Band in a Box, Reaper, Cakewalk, EZDrummer and Ozone 11.   Dave Bell of Blue Attitude played guitar, Bill Davis played the washboard and sang harmony.  I added bass, guitar, and vocals, which is a neat trick in a live recording.  Speaking of... Groove Dat Pie

I'm filled with gumbo and headin' into town.

Gotta catch the groovey train and see who's gettin' down.

I worked all week in the rythnm of the grind.

Gotta clear those cobwebs from my mind.

Groove dat pie, melodious fish fry. Groove dat pie.

Slice me off a piece o' dat New Orleans beat.

Gotta taste that groovy pie, That rhythm sounds sweet.

I worked all week, and felt my life would end.

Gonna feel alive once again.

Groove dat pie, that good ol' NOLA pie. Groove dat pie.

I hear that rhyhtm and my feet just got to dance.

That's why I come into this town on weekend nights.

The music's never over cuz we won't give it a chance.

We dance all night then through daylight.

(Groove dat Groove dat Groove dat pie groo-grove dat

Groove dat Groove dat Groove dat pie groo-grooooove)x2

I work all week just to pay some rich guy's bills.

On weekends I just want to fly.

I worked alone in the dead night, so now I wanna groove dat pie.

Last line: Groove dat pie, that good ol' second line. Groove dat pie.
