Christmas Presence
Every year at Christmas there is magic in the air
with everyone so pleasent, and presents we all share.
Yet still among the laughter there are thoughts we hold most dear
for the ones who in the present cannot be here this year
We miss their Christmas presence,
their singing way off key.
Now they're heard within the silence,
of our Christmas reveries. <--last time= memories.
We recall when Christmas had an extra lift of cheer
when those we love so dearly would presently appear.
So now we smile more deeply while remembering that sight
Our wishlist Christmas presence: we'll one day reunite.
Christmas holds the mem'ries of those times.
They're kept alive as time goes by.
Forever we'll remember and celebrate the joy
Their gifts of love will still apply.
