California Stars

      This is an old Woodie Guthrie tune with an interesting story behind it.  30 years after he died Woody's daughter found many of his lyrics that he never recorded.  She contacted Billy Bragg and the band Wilco who put music to many of them and recorded them in a collection called Mermaind Avenue. 

      Here, rather than repeating the 2 verses, I added 2 of my own, bringing the stars back for a visit to Pennsylvania.  My working title was CAPA (pronounced "coppa" like a NYC gangster referring to a police officer) Stars. 

       It is here redone with Band in a Box and Cakewalk.   I did bass and vocals.
